Sophie

On a warm evening at the end of January, Sophie stretched out for a nap on her loft and didn’t wake up. She was a good bunny, always quick with a warm, wet ankle nudge and a disapproving glare. She didn’t like to be pet, she was always too busy getting into mischief for anything like that, but if you let her climb on you and snuggle up near you afterwards, she might let you stroke her soft ears. I miss you already buns, I hope I gave you a rich life, full of adventure and a comfortable old age with lots of out-of-cage naps and all of your favourite treats. You touched my life in so many ways, I love you Sophie, sleep tight.

I hadn't heard her or seen her in a few minutes, so I went looking for her. I found sitting quietly in a chair at the table.

One of the more recent pictures I took of her. She wanted to investigate the lens hood that I got for Christmas.
