The Sophster-Toaster Shop Turns 2!

I’ve been peddling my wares for two years now! I’ve learned and changed so much since the day I stumbled forth and opened my shop without a clue as to what to do with my dresses once they left the sewing room. I feel like every day I learn some new sewing trick, photography technique or sales and marketing tip that I can use to improve my product and my shop, but overall, I think the most rewarding part of this journey has been all the great customers, fans, bloggers and fellow artisans I’ve met along the way.

‘The Crimson Tide’ App Review

Red tide, Aunt Flow, Lady Time, Period, Dracula’s tea bag, Purple Towel Night, Dragontime, Moon Cycle, Fighting the Scarlet Crusade, Defecting to Canada, or maybe Riding the Cotton Pony.

If you aren’t sure what I’m referring to, I’m talking about menstruation.

Many ladies are interested in tracking their cycles to understand when to expect cramps, the highest chance of pregnancy, or just to know when they must purchase more cotton amour. I use and have used period trackers for three years, and although these trackers are sometimes a day off, I find these apps provide excellent insight to my cycle. What I’m Working On This Week: 17/03/14

I tried to embrace winter this year, even though I’ve always hated it. I thought it would be easy since I’m currently living somewhere warmer and less snowy than where I grew up, but then this year turned out to be the coldest, snowiest winter my landlord, who has been living in the area for 50+ years, can remember! With this terribly bleak and bitter winter, filled with snow storms and freezing rain, having followed a particularly brief and cool summer, I can’t remember a time I’ve been more anxious to see spring return.

Though spring hasn’t quite appeared in my part of the world yet (the husband had a snow day last week) this Thursday is technically the first day of spring. I will be marking the vernal equinox with the end of The Winter Clearance Sale and the introduction of the new shop and social media theme for spring. Come Thursday, the icy pastels of post-Christmas winter will be replaced by bright and vibrant colours for spring.
